Young African Researchers Fellowship
Support emerging researchers with funding, mentorship, and international collaboration.
The Young African Researchers Fellowship bridges the gap between graduate training and independent research careers. Fellows receive research funding, dedicated mentorship, publication support, and access to international collaborations—addressing the isolation and resource constraints that cause talented African researchers to leave science or emigrate without building continental capacity.
Goals
- Retain talented African researchers within continental research ecosystems
- Provide early-career funding for independent research projects and pilot studies
- Connect fellows to international collaborators, conferences, and publication networks
- Build a pipeline from fellowship to faculty appointments and research leadership
Who it is for
Early-career African researchers within five years of completing their highest degree, demonstrating research potential and commitment to building scientific capacity on the continent.
