Girls Discover Science confronts one of STEM's most persistent challenges: the underrepresentation of women across scientific careers in Africa. Through girls-only STEM camps, women scientist role model networks, and targeted scholarship support, we create environments where girls build confidence, explore frontier science, and envision research careers without limitation.

Goals

• Increase girls' participation and persistence in STEM education and careers
• Connect girls with women scientists, engineers, and researchers as role models and mentors
• Address structural barriers—including bias, resource gaps, and cultural expectations—that limit girls' STEM pathways
• Track and publish evidence on effective interventions for girls in STEM across African contexts

Who it is for

Girls aged 12–22 in secondary schools and early university, with outreach prioritizing communities where girls' STEM participation rates are lowest and role models are scarce.
