STEMNova Foundation was founded by Dr. Dorcas Attuabea Addo, a Ghanaian scientist and educator whose journey through African universities and international research environments shaped a deep commitment to creating lasting impact through research and STEM education. Throughout her academic and professional journey, she witnessed both the extraordinary potential of young African scientists and the barriers that too often prevent that potential from flourishing. Many promising students lack access to mentorship, research exposure, laboratory opportunities, professional networks, and clear pathways into scientific careers and leadership. STEMNova was established to help change this reality not through isolated interventions, but by creating structured opportunities and sustainable pathways that enable talent to be discovered, nurtured, connected, and empowered to lead. The Foundation develops programmes spanning STEM talent discovery, mentorship, girls and women in STEM, teacher development, research fellowships, innovation, and frontier science education. At the heart of STEMNova is a simple belief: Where a young person begins should not determine how far their scientific potential can take them. STEMNova’s ambition is to become Africa’s trusted home for discovering and developing scientific talent, nurturing the next generation of researchers, teachers, innovators, and scientific leaders who will advance knowledge, solve real-world challenges, and contribute to Africa’s scientific future.
